MIL-H-45193D
temperature of the body and nozzle shall be measured to determine compliance with
3.6.2.2. The temperature range, temperature stability, and volume shall be
measured to determine compliance with 3.5.
*
4.6.2 Operational cycle. The heater gun shall be subjected to eight
successive cycles of operation, with the temperature at the maximum setting, with
each cycle consisting of 45 minutes on and 15 minutes off. At the conclusion of
the test period, the heater shall be tested in accordance with 4.6.1.
4.6.3 Dielectric strength test. The heater gun shall be subjected to 1,000
volts rms plus twice the rated voltage between each insulated circuit and the
heater body in accordance with 3.5.3. The voltage shall be attained within one
second and maintained for a period of one minute. The heater gun shall then be
inspected for evidence of damage. Failure to pass the dielectric test, or any
resulting physical damage due to the dielectric test, shall be cause for
rejection.
*
4.7 Packaging inspection. Packaging inspection shall be conducted before
and after packaging to determine compliance with the requirements of Section 5.
